Important changes

Please be aware of the following changes in Baltic PR Awards contest manual:

-        Links  submitted to support you application must be available online till 27th of February 2016, instead of February 1st.

-        PRESENTATION BOARD submission must be in JPEG format, CMYK at 300 dpi. You will be able to upload your PRESENTATION BOARD preview file on the Baltic PR Awards website as part of your entry, and upload CMYK file to a 3rd party file hosting website, providing direct download link in the link section of the online application.

There is no need to re-submit PRESENTATION BOARD,  If you have already submitted application in accordance with previous technical requirements. In case your project gets shortlisted, you will be contacted and asked for CMYK version of your PRESENTATION BOARD.

Main changes of “Baltic PR Awards”

The main changes of “Baltic PR Awards” in comparison with previous years are in crisis communication category, of the contest part. Therefore, in this particular category agencies can submit works that have been carried out within last five years not during last year as it is case in other categories.

“We are sure, that in this category we will receive most interesting case-studies.“Fresh crisis” for companies are still too painful, besides sometimes it takes a while before you can evaluate results. Five-year period will eliminate these kinds of issues,” explained Sandra Krisberga, CEO of Latvian Public relations’ company association (LPRCA).

The organizers are not revealing the keynote speakers yet, and have promised to distribute this information is nearest time, though everyone is welcomed to follow the updates on website balticparawards.com.

Year’s most exciting conference on critical thinking

“Baltic PR Awards 2016” include three events in one day contest, conference and awards ceremony. As main topic of this conference we have chosen – critical and world

“We live in an information age, role of communication changes as it increase, which is why this year’s contest has special meaning,” told Ieva Stūre, president of LPRCA.

According to Stūre, the topic of critical thinking will be viewed from various standpoints like government, entrepreneurs and individuals. How to keep it cool in propaganda wars, effects of digital media on habits of society, how to find ones way in large information flow, what to consider, when making significant decisions for the company, how to work with increasing data flow – those are only few of planned lectures.

“Critical thinking is becoming a first necessity good, which should be included in contemporary survival kit, it is essential not only the industry professionals but also for opinion leaders and for strategically thinking businesses. We are sure, that everyone has noticed that information volumes are increasing, and it becomes more difficult to keep one’s mind clear. Opinions in society become more polar, intolerance increases, that is why alongside with speakers’ presentations we have planned active discussions of professionals to decrease this intolerance,” tells Antra Bork-Ržečicka, representative of conference organizers.

Early Bird application submission period has begun

From January 4th, Early Bird application submission period is open for the biggest and most important event in the Baltic communication industry “Baltic PR Awards”.

All communication campaigns submitted should have been predominantly implemented between November 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015. The only exemption is “Issue and Crisis” category where submitted campaigns could have been implemented during last five years.

Any Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian Agency or enterprise can sign up for competition in one of the 13categories, including corporate sustainability and responsibility, digital communication, crisis communication, public sector campaigns, internal communication, no budget campaigns, and others.

Submission period ends on February 7th (including).

In order to simplify submission process, electronic application form is available on the website. By filling one form Agency or Company representatives can submit several projects.

In parallel with the “Baltic PR Awards”, full day conference will take place on February 26th, with critical thinking being main topic. Taking into consideration current geopolitical situation, critical thinking is an actual topic as for Baltic, as for the whole world.

“Baltic PR Awards 2016” event date announced

“Baltic PR awards 2016”, the largest communication industry event in Baltics, will take place from January 4th till February 26th, 2016, and conclude with broad scope conference and award ceremony, informed Sandra Krisberga, CEO of Latvian Public relations’ company association (LPRCA).

Whilst LPRCA President Ieva Stūre added, that usual concept of “Baltic PR awards” has been significantly changed and broadened - increased proportion of international jury members, therefore we expect fiercer international competition in contest part

As from January 4th till February 7th Baltic’s communication professionals will have opportunity to submit their works for judging in 13 different categories.

After that international jury will begin its work, shortlisting four best campaigns in each category that will continue competing for prizes. There will be 6 international jury members representing international agencies with worldwide network, 8 jury members from Estonia, 8 jury members from Lithuania and 8 jury members from Latvia. The exact composition of the jury panel will be announced in mid-January.

On February 26th, the attendees of the conference will have opportunity to be introduced to the best campaigns from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, while at the same time conference about critical thinking will take place, but everything will finalize with award ceremony for the best campaigns.

Jānis Sārts began his career in the Ministry of Defence after graduating from the Faculty of History at the University of Latvia in 1994. Within three years, he was promoted as a director of the Defence Policy Department, where he was in charge of development and implementation of Latvia’s annual national plans for membership into NATO. Sārts headed the Defence Section of Latvia’s Delegation to NATO and EU in Brussels. He was appointed as a Special Advisor to Georgia on defense reforms and NATO integration plans. In July 2015 he was appointed as Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence.

Categories

The Baltic PR Awards 2016 will cover 14 categories. In 13 categories there will be 4 short-listed nominees. The one with the highest total score will be declared the winner of the category. The agency with the highest number of campaigns awarded at the Baltic PR Awards 2016 will be named the Agency of the Year.

All entry materials, documentation and payment shall be submitted no later than on February 7, 2016.

CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

Campaign or program designed for building corporate brand awareness, long-term reputation management or other business and trade communication campaigns targeted at both business and consumer audiences.
